Your workout history stays under your control
MotionEra reads the Apple Health data you allow and uses it on your device to explain your workouts against your own history. You do not need a MotionEra account. The app has no advertising, no analytics or session replay, and no automatic upload of your workout history to a MotionEra server.
This notice covers the app, this website and the support you request. Apple services and any destination you choose when sharing have their own privacy practices.
Apple Health and local analysis
Depending on your permissions and the data available, MotionEra can read workouts, workout routes, fitness measurements, heart-rate measurements, sleep and other daily activity context, and relevant profile inputs. It uses these records to show history, calculate comparisons and explain the evidence behind an insight. Missing readings remain missing; granting access does not guarantee a particular analysis.
MotionEra requests read access. It does not write workouts to Apple Health or delete your Apple Health records. You can change its access in Apple's Health controls. Changing permissions does not itself erase copies already imported into MotionEra; use the app's local erase control for that.
Preferences and explicit annotations, such as a workout tag or a manually entered maximum heart rate, are stored locally. Fictional sample history is visibly marked and is separate from your saved history.
Storage and backups
The imported health database, its related journal files, local technical diagnostics and widget snapshot use Apple's file protection and are excluded from device backup by the app. Some background-readable files remain available after the device's first unlock; file protection does not mean that every file becomes unreadable whenever the screen locks.
A separate protected, backup-eligible file preserves explicit workout tags and referral records. Tag records include a workout identifier so the tag can be attached again if the same workout is reimported. This file does not contain workout measurements or routes. Ordinary display preferences can also be included in a device backup.
Your manually entered maximum heart rate is kept in a separate file that uses Apple's Complete file-protection class and is excluded from backup. When migrating an older saved setting, MotionEra removes the old preferences copy only after successfully saving and protecting the new file. A failed save is reported so you can retry.
Sharing and data export
Sharing happens when you choose it. The app prepares a preview, and Apple's share interface lets you choose the recipient or app. That destination may store the material under its own terms.
Share-card route trimming and a full data export are different controls. The full JSON export includes your saved workout history, complete stored routes, measurements, source metadata, daily context, analysis records, annotations and your manually entered maximum heart rate when set. It is not trimmed by the "Hide start and finish when sharing" setting. Exporting saved data while viewing sample mode still exports saved real history.
Review the content before sharing. Trimming the ends of a route does not guarantee anonymity. Deleting data in MotionEra cannot remove copies already saved or sent elsewhere.
Local technical diagnostics
MotionEra keeps a small local technical record to help investigate reliability. It uses fixed operation and outcome names, broad duration or size buckets and coarse recording days. Apple's MetricKit can supply technical launch, hang, CPU, memory, disk-write and crash information; MotionEra retains selected aggregates rather than the full reports or call stacks.
The retained store is capped at 5 MB. Records outside a seven-day window are removed when diagnostics are next recorded or viewed. If the app is unused, older bytes can remain until that next cleanup or until you delete them.
These records exclude workout values, routes, workout names and identifiers, and free-form error descriptions. MotionEra does not automatically send this store to the publisher. You can inspect and share an export yourself, or delete local diagnostics in Settings. Deleting diagnostics alone allows future technical records to be created.
Apple services
Map views use Apple's MapKit. Apple's map services may process requests under Apple Maps and Privacy. App distribution, platform diagnostics and purchases are also subject to Apple's applicable services and your Apple settings. This notice does not claim that the device never connects to Apple.
MotionEra Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and keeps your billing details; MotionEra never sees them. To unlock Plus, the app checks the signed transaction Apple keeps on your device, such as which subscription it is and when it ends. It stores no receipt or account identifier of its own. Apple gives the publisher sales and subscription reports that do not include your name, email address or Apple Account.
Support you choose to request
If you email [email protected], the message passes through Cloudflare Email Routing and is delivered to the publisher's Google Gmail mailbox. Eri Dervishi, Cloudflare and Google therefore process your email address, message and attachments. That information is used only to answer your request and investigate the problem, which is the legal basis for handling it. Support messages are deleted 12 months after the conversation ends, or sooner if you ask.
Start with a description of the problem, your app version and your iOS version. Please do not send passwords, Apple account credentials, full health exports or precise routes. If a diagnostic attachment would help, review it before choosing to send it. Health information you include in a message is handled with the same care as the rest of the message and deleted on the same schedule.
This website

Erasing data and your rights
In MotionEra, open Settings, then Privacy & Data, then Erase local MotionEra data. This removes local saved history, analysis, annotations, profile inputs and diagnostics, and pauses import until you explicitly reconnect Apple Health. Apple Health records remain unchanged. Display preferences may remain. A failed erase is shown as incomplete so you can retry.
You can also delete technical diagnostics separately. Copies previously exported, recipient copies and older backups are outside the local erase operation.
The publisher holds no copy of your workout data. For support messages or anything else the publisher holds about you, you can ask for access, correction or deletion, or object to its use, by writing to [email protected]. If you are unhappy with the answer, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) or the data protection authority where you live.
Changes to this notice
The effective date changes when this notice changes. Before adding a service that sends new categories of data off the device, the publisher will review the purpose, user choices, this notice and the App Store privacy disclosures.
