Support
MotionEra explains your recorded workouts and the evidence behind them. This page covers common questions and the information that helps resolve a problem.
Contact the developer
Email [email protected]. MotionEra is made by Eri Dervishi, an individual developer, and support is answered by email on a best-effort basis.
Send a short description of what happened, what you expected, your MotionEra version, your iOS version and your device model. If you can, add steps that reproduce the issue with the app's fictional sample workouts.
Do not send passwords, Apple account credentials, recovery codes, full health exports or precise routes. Screenshots can contain health details: crop or redact anything unnecessary. A specific, reviewed attachment will be requested only if it is needed. The Privacy notice explains how support messages are handled and when they are deleted.
What MotionEra needs
MotionEra runs on iPhone with iOS 26 or later. It reads workouts from Apple Health, so they can come from Apple Watch or from any app that saves workouts there. It is free to download, with an optional MotionEra Plus subscription, and you do not need an account.
My workouts or readings are missing
- Check that the workout and the missing measurement are present in Apple Health.
- In MotionEra, review Apple Health access in Settings, then open Settings, Advanced, Data report to see what was received.
- If local data was erased, choose Reconnect Apple Health in Settings to resume importing.
- Use Refresh Workouts in Settings. Rebuild workout history, under Settings, Advanced, refetches and recomputes all history and asks for confirmation first.
Some workouts do not contain a route, heart rate or sport-specific measurements. MotionEra cannot create a reading that the source did not record. Limited history can also prevent a reliable personal comparison; the app then says it is still learning your normal range.
Changing a Health permission does not necessarily tell MotionEra why a particular query returned no data. Check the source record and Apple's Health controls together before treating an empty result as an app error.
The analysis looks wrong
Open the evidence behind the insight and check the recorded value, comparison range, comparable count, confidence and history window. Compare the original workout in Apple Health. Source recordings, edited activities or unit preferences can explain a difference.
If the explanation still looks inconsistent, describe the screen and the kind of mismatch. Start without private workout details. A fictional sample that reproduces the problem is better than a full health archive. MotionEra's explanations are informational and are not medical advice.
Sharing a card versus exporting my data
The share preview shows the material you are about to hand to another app. "Hide start and finish when sharing" in Settings trims the ends of shared routes, but it does not remove every potentially identifying feature.
Settings, Privacy & Data, Review data export lets you review and export saved local data. That JSON archive can include full stored routes, measurements, source metadata, daily context, analysis records, your annotations and a manually entered maximum heart rate. The route-trimming setting does not trim this archive. It exports saved real history even while sample mode is visible. Keep the file private unless you deliberately choose otherwise.
Erasing local data
Open Settings, Privacy & Data, Erase local MotionEra data and review the confirmation. The operation clears saved local history and analysis, annotations, profile inputs, local diagnostics and the widget snapshot. It pauses importing until you explicitly reconnect Apple Health. Ordinary display preferences can remain.
Apple Health is unchanged, and copies already sent to another app are not withdrawn. If the app reports an incomplete erase, importing stays paused; retry the erase. For information already sent to support, write to [email protected] rather than relying on local deletion.
Reviewing technical diagnostics
Open Settings, Advanced, Local Diagnostics to review an export or delete the local diagnostic store. Technical records use a fixed vocabulary and coarse buckets, not workout measurements or routes. The store is capped at 5 MB; records outside a seven-day window are removed on the next read or write. The app does not automatically send this store to the developer.
Deleting diagnostics does not delete workout history. Future app activity can create new diagnostic records. Share an attachment only after reviewing what will be sent.
Purchases
MotionEra Plus is billed by Apple. To restore it on a new iPhone, open Settings → MotionEra Plus and choose Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account. To change or cancel it, including during the free trial (at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid the first yearly charge), use your Apple Account subscription settings. For a refund, use Apple's refund process; the publisher cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases. Never send an Apple Account password to support.
Privacy questions
Read the Privacy notice. Send privacy requests to [email protected]. MotionEra has no user account to delete; the app's local data controls and your Apple Health permissions cover the copies of your data on your devices.
